BIOGRAPHY

 

Hamsa Mounif is the owner of a soaring and captivating classical Arabic voice.  Hamsa's dedication to music is demonstrated in her participation in projects ranging from ‘The Voice’ Arabia to the National Orchestra of Syria, global tours with The Orchestra of Syrian Musicians & collaborations with Damon Albarn, Faia Younan, Paul Weller, Seckou Keita, Bassekou Kouyate and more, to her performances at WOMAD, Cambridge Folk Festival, Trafalgar Square, the British Museum and Royal Festival Hall. 


Due to the difficult circumstances in her home country, Hamsa is now residing in the UK where she continues to perform alongside other displaced members of The Orchestra of Syrian Musicians and is working on building her solo material as well as frequently appearing as a principle solo vocalist with the orchestra.  Hamsa’s warmth shines through her music, her charisma and voice touching audiences wherever she goes.
